Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week)

Job Summary:

Responsible for developing and overseeing the market based commercial pricing strategy for Empire's service organization. This position will work closely with Product Support Sales and Service Management to ensure both market share and profitability goals are kept in scope. This position will lead and direct departmental staff in developing prices for Empire's Exchange, Reman and CRC Component Rebuild programs.

Essential Functions:


  1. Plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and control assigned area to achieve fiscal and future business objectives.
  2. Hire, train, develop, supervise, and motivate staff to meet the requirements set forth by Product Support Management.
  3. Conduct performance appraisals on all department personnel.
  4. Implement the overall commercial pricing strategy for Empire's Service organization to include construction, mining agriculture.
  5. Develop an exchange pricing strategy for all components and industries.
  6. Work with Empire's client-facing team to create analytical methodology and financial modeling to assist Product Support Sales Managers to make strategic and tactical decisions.
  7. Lead the Pricing Team in developing a market-based pricing strategy for new, Cat Reman, Empire Exchange, and Empire Rebuilt components.
  8. Lead the charge to re-invent and introduce Empire's Repair Option Program to capture lost parts and service market share.
  9. Ensure that overall strategy, grow and maintain Percentage of Parts Sales (POPS) and the percentage of the parts sold on a work order with labor (DCAL).
  10. Assist in developing Empire's Repair Options pricing strategy.
  11. Identify cost drivers and facilitate solutions where market-based pricing cannot be achieved.
  12. Provide data and analysis to support business solutions and strategy development for Empire's Services Support business.
  13. Oversee operational Product Support databases and web applications. Validate data accuracy and integrity. Identify and research problematic areas and direct programmers on necessary changes and updates.
  14. In collaboration and consultation with internal departments, develop, implement, and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions.

  5. Train users, ensures data entry and processes are operationally consistent for reliable data retrieval.
  6. Document and communicate issues that may impact customer satisfaction to the appropriate area.
  7. Perform other related duties as may be required.
  8. Work within and promote corporate values.

  1. Research new data applications and tools, develop recommendations based on findings, implement approved applications, train new users and manage database to desired compliance level.
  2. Develop standard Service Products and Exchange Department metrics and reports that represent effectiveness in achieving desired business goals for individual products.
  3. Cooperate with personnel in other work centers to build high levels of cross-departmental teamwork and support.
  4. Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.

  4. Must be a self-motivated, self-starter, work well in groups and demonstrate excellent internal client service.
  5. Must have knowledge and experience in process improvement methodologies and or project management.
  6. Must have sufficient knowledge to effectively utilize Microsoft Office Products, Excel expert level user, DBS database files and DBS queries and report writing, Empire web applications and Cognos financial reporting tool.
  7. Appropriate manner, conduct, and grooming adhere to company policy.
  8. Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.

Education and Experience:


  1. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  2. College Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or IT preferred.
  3. High competency and experience with computer business system tools and Microsoft Office Products.
  4. Experience with model building and data mining.
  5. Current driver's license.
  6. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
