Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and advocating security architecture principles and articulating risk/value proposition to our business and technology partners. You will also develop architectural strategy for the security and identity domains and developing/implementing the mechanisms necessary to ensure that the strategy is realized. Ensuring decisions around architecture are made and deviations from standards are accurately identified, addressed, and communicated will be essential as will be raising risks and issues as necessary.

Role summary and job responsibilities:
Serves as an expert who advises on the best courses of action for mitigating security concerns
Ensures that Architects follow all aspects of both the Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Security processes from initiation to closure.
Provides mentorship to the Senior Architects in the early planning stage around security concerns that may be appropriate for specific solutions
Ensuring that standards set by Data, Security, Infrastructure, Platform and other architecture domains are followed when crafting solutions
Representing our Enterprise Security strategy at internal and external forums
Staying abreast of industry trends; you are active in staying knowledgeable to help us take advantage of new technologies
Operating as a hands-on architecture practitioner, delivers within a team as an individual architect
Balancing strategic and pragmatic concerns when solving complex or multifaceted problems
Making sound and objective decisions with limited facts or resources
Displaying understanding of theoretical concepts
Identifying non-obvious relationships and anomalies often overlooked by others
Identifying and evaluating options and selecting the most effective solution.
Holding associates and teams accountable for adhering to practices and policies
Business knowledge
You articulate broader business concerns and/or regulatory landscape, including key risks and controls (e.g., GDPR, MIFID, SOX)
Skilled at making decisions that are cognizant of the firm’s broader technology and security strategies
You set the expectations for development practices and ensures they are known and adhered to within the area.
Requirements
5+ years of AWS experience.
Strong working knowledge of the most common AWS Products, e.g., IAM, S3, RDS, EC2, etc.
Strong working knowledge of AWS Networking, e.g., VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, etc.
Working knowledge of Authentication and Authorization standards like SAML, OAuth, etc.
Proven track record of implementing Security standards
You are an authority in Cloud Security architecture discipline or domain within our firm and potentially across the industry
Your designs and architectures show consideration for the operational aspects of a system, long-term supportability, maintenance, etc.
Demonstrates mastery of architectural processes
You innovate and leads explorations into new areas and new technologies within the company but also with other industry leaders
Capable of leading small-to-medium software development projects in terms of team size, technical complexity, and/or organizational complexity
Able to produce results through individuals and teams where there is no direct management oversight of resources
Able to negotiate and overcome differences of opinion and drive team alignment around a specific goal or solution
Nice to Have
AWS Certifications
Experience with advanced networking concepts like firewalls, Transit Gateway, etc.
Experience integrating with 3rd party vendors and partners
Terraform and GitLab experience
