The Manager of Data Quality is a meaningful role within our Data Management function, leading the design and the advancement of the Data Quality program across the Individual Investor (II) business. Our business is responsible for over $200B in client assets and serves 1.3 million investors. You would craft the data quality strategy, construct a balanced data quality platform and deliver data quality processes – including research and analysis, root cause identification, solution development and mitigation strategies. Additionally, they would develop monitoring and reporting capabilities. This position is a highly visible position, partnering with key partners in technology, legal, compliance and risk. Oversight and management of a technology development budget and technical development would be an ongoing activity, aligning with our broader II technology platform.
They have a passion for data and data analysis, is able to connect and communicate with technical and non-technical partners, and can lead cross-functional teams through sophisticated and complex data issues from identification, to root cause and ultimately to solution.
Independently conducts data management and reporting assignments with a focus on Data Quality. Leverages extensive knowledge of life cycle data analysis. Advocates data standards within cross-functional teams to ensure data are regarded as accurate, timely, reliable, and trusted by business collaborators. They are the primary point of engagement for management of sophisticated and complex data sets and related data requests. Also serves as point of contact and participates in data management discussions that happen across Individual Investors. Serves as the intake for data quality related initiatives which includes managing identified issues and assessing, prioritizing and coordinating timely responses and solutions.
Manage, coach and lead a high-visibility, highly skilled, and high-impact team, focused on data quality.
Acts as a consultant to the business on complex data quality issues. Ensures that data quality monitoring and analyses provided to internal clients and team members are done in a timely manner and are of the highest level of quality. Coordinates with team to provide analysis and recommendations for current and future needs, which minimize duplication and improve compatibility of data within and across the business unit. Calls out data protection/privacy issues as necessary. Provides guidance on data issues identified by more junior professionals.
Shapes the data quality strategy, installing standard methodology processes for data monitoring, root cause and impact analysis, remediation development and proactive monitoring/mitigation
Implements processes and controls for the creation, consumption, assimilation, and/or destruction of data. Contributes to cross-functional projects. Ensures project goals are in line with data management goals. Partners with internal collaborators to translate sophisticated definitions and content to ensure model and reporting adoption.
Leads investigations, analyses, and evaluations to determine data quality enhancement feasibility and implications for data accuracy. Makes recommendations to more senior professionals based on findings.
Performs data curation and governance activities, including developing and supporting technical workflows, developing operational data management reports and metrics, enhancing existing models, and building and supporting frameworks and processes. Trains less senior professionals and support staff to understand operational processes.
Proactively supervises and leads sophisticated data sets. Implements and carries out data quality and maintenance programs in alignment with T. Rowe Price policies and procedures. Evangelizes standard methodologies for the business.
Runs oversight of the data quality technology portfolio including budget management.
