Overview

In this role, you will learn the current daily mode of operations and the planned future mode of operations through interactions with team members and the larger organization.  You will help facilitate a transition from current state of operations to a technology-driven target state wherein team members will have a greater role in raw data collection and symptom analysis.  The future mode of operation will support a core modernization objective that continues to monitor all systems and notifies the support teams in an automated fashion permitting a transformation to a more collaborative role in problem resolution based on subtle performance indicators. This position offers a hybrid work model with 2 days in the Owings Mills, MD office and 3 days remote.

Role Summary and job responsibilities

• Monitor production systems and react using strategic tools and processes




• Review processes and procedures for automation opportunities




• Develop and implement process automations




• Collaborate with engineering resources to ensure technological alignment




• Develop and maintain knowledge supporting use of strategic technologies

Business knowledge

• Possesses in-depth knowledge of system and process monitoring typically seen in an advanced Network Operations Center

Qualifications:

Required:

• Typically requires 3-5 years of relevant experience




• Requires in-depth knowledge of a Network Operations Center




• Advanced problem-solving skills and techniques




• A solid understanding of public cloud technologies




• An aggressive approach to learning emerging technologies and how it impacts service delivery improvements




• Effective communication skills

Preferred:

• Knowledge of tools such as Splunk, New Relic, Grafana, Cloudwatch

The ideal candidate for this position will be able to quickly learn current operational processes and understand the daily operational issues in the public cloud-centric strategic platforms envisioned for Information Technology.  This position would regularly collaborate with the strategic teams within more technical support teams, become a bridge to the future of operations, and help leadership to foster a path of continuous learning as technology evolves.
