As a licensed Senior Retirement Counselor, you will work exclusively with our highest and most valued Workplace Participants to present T.Rowe Price backed retirement insights and solutions that enhance the financial well-being of our High Net Worth plan Participants. A Senior Retirement Counselor is part of a team dedicated to our High Net Worth Workplace Investors with a primary focus to help participants successfully transition to retirement while also contributing to the firm’s Enterprise Retention strategy. While working within our team, you’ll be responsible for growth outcomes focused on stay-in plan and rollover retention, acquisition of new assets, and asset consolidation through ongoing consultative retirement consultations. In this role, you will:


  • Provide holistic, comprehensive retirement consultations to High Net Worth retirement plan participants over the phone as part of a dedicated sales and asset retention team.

  • Promotes firm services and offerings to assigned clients based on understanding clients'  goals and objectives. Negotiates sales of products and services across assigned departments within the business unit. Structures offerings in the best interests of the client and the firm, maintaining a balanced approach with compliance standards. Identifies and qualifies prospects, develops a “trusted advisor” relationship, and helps them find solutions to address their needs. Evaluates the potential of prospects; develops and executes a plan for capitalizing on those opportunities. Develops knowledge of the assigned clients, their sensitivities, and their business needs to affect their decision-making. Coordinates sales opportunities for assigned clients across T. Rowe Price business units as necessary.

  • Develops relationships with client contacts to conduct meetings and deliver presentations on new products and services. Generates new leads through client and market research. Develops custom approaches for clients based on individual needs.

  • Demonstrates a consultative approach in positioning products and services to participants pertaining to retirement planning during life-changing events such as separation of service from an employer, retirement, and investment planning.

  • Obtain knowledge of the participant’s financial portfolio objectives, asset composition, and past historical information and help them navigate to appropriate next steps.

  • Retain assets through education and guidance of available plan-specific and general distribution options.

  • Diligently manage a pipeline of opportunities to nurture client/participant relationships. Serves as a single point of contact and assists client through transitions. Uses a consistent follow-up process to move sales opportunities forward. Runs calendar and leads box effectively and efficiently to execute on results.

  • Delivers on defined retention and sales targets and other role-based responsibilities and thrives in fast-paced work environments that can be ambiguous and require flexibility.

  • Handles client inquiries and resolves problems within scope of knowledge and ensures all transactions and administrative processes are accomplished. Partners with back-office and shared services teams to research and resolve complex client inquiries.

Qualifications:

Required:


  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • Series 7 and 66

  • 10+ years of total relevant work experience

  • Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) (obtained within 180 days of hire)

Preferred:


  • Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®)

  • 5+ years of direct work experience working with retirement plan participants and individual investors in a consultative, sales capacity

*Expected starting salary range for this role is $98, 500 - $105,000.
