Persistent Systems is looking for a Help Desk Technician to support our geographically dispersed user base. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of the company's PCs, printers, servers, phones, and related equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include end-user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades, and configurations on Windows 10 and Ubuntu. You will respond to inquiries and requests for assistance with software, hardware, and other problems requiring resolutions. You will provide expertise, advice, and advanced knowledge, to users including in-depth problem-solving to help diagnose and resolve system issues. You will also open, track, and close support tickets, while reporting back to end-users.
Provide helpdesk support and resolve issues for end-users
Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
Document and update internal technical procedures and How-To guides
Automate and manage Windows and Linux workstation setup and deployment for new employees including hardware and software
Maintain and support Linux based workstations and servers for updates, upgrades, and additional package installs
Support the onboarding of new users
Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades and maintenance releases as required
Job Qualifications & Experience
Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
2+ years of Helpdesk or related computer support experience
Experience with Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS operating systems
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Basic Networking and TCP-IP knowledge
VOIP and IP Telephony knowledge
Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
Scripting and desktop automation experience
Basic server administration experience
The pay for this role can vary from $30 to $37.50 an hour based on the selected individual's education and experience.
