Position OverviewThe Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at the University of Kansas invites applications for a Data and Assessment Coordinator. The coordinator reports to the CTE's Associate Director for Student Learning and Analytics and is a key member of the CTE team. CTE is an organization that serves to build community among faculty members and guides the campus in implementing, recognizing and rewarding evidence-based and innovative educational practices. The coordinator collaborates closely with the CTE staff and faculty fellows and supports campus-wide assessment efforts at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The coordinator's work supports the implementation of a comprehensive plan for assessment of student learning.
This plan informs curriculum, teaching, educational improvement and innovation, and it serves as a resource for reporting requirements for the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) and the Higher Learning Commission as part of our periodic accreditation review. The coordinator's focus is on assisting the CTE, faculty members, and academic units with assessment activities such as survey development, rubric scoring, student and faculty focus groups, data analysis, and the development of reports on student learning analytics data.
Job Description20% - Works with the CTE Staff and Fellows to help analyze and document the Center's range of programs, activities and resources with the goal of efficiently leveraging these to promote educational improvement across the campus.
20% - Collaborates with the CTE Associate Director and the Specialist in Documenting Student Learning to support individual instructors and academic units in learning outcomes assessment and learning analytics, including assistance with data collection, management and analysis, and developing reports to inform educational decision making.
15% - Works with the CTE Associate Director to support the implementation of KU's comprehensive assessment plan focused on student learning outcomes, including the University's annual reporting and accreditation processes.
15% - Works with other CTE members to promote, support and assess course and curriculum (re)design to improve student outcomes and equity.
15% - Collaborates with other campus units to achieve Center goals related to assessment, learning analytics, educational improvement and innovation.
10% - Provides data support for the Center's several grant-funded initiatives and projects.
5% - Maintains knowledge of national trends in assessment and learning analytics.
