Senior Plant Accountant


Meyer Utility Structures, a subsidiary of Arcosa, Inc., a provider of infrastructure related products and solutions, is currently looking to hire a Senior Accountant for its Concrete Utility Structures operation located in Bay Minette, Alabama.  The Senior Accountant, a key individual on the plant leadership team, is responsible for performing and managing the plant’s financial activities while contributing to other areas of plant management.


Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.


What you’ll do:



  • Provide financial leadership and support operations for the plant through accounting, forecasting, planning and reporting

  • Manage financial and accounting activities including general accounting and cost accounting in accordance with GAAP and Company policies and practices

  • Manage plant accounting duties that involve customer invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll

  • Perform month-end, quarter-end and calendar year-end financial closings

  • Prepare monthly financial forecasts

  • Perform, present, and communicate analyses of monthly financial results, financial forecasts and variances to plant and BU leadership

  • Prepare plant authorization requests for capital expenditures

  • Maintain standard costs of plant products and prepare monthly production cost and KPI reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of the plant’s annual operating and capital budgets and support the business unit’s strategic planning process

  • Monitor plant spending and partner with plant management and BU management teams on continuous improvement and profit improvement opportunities


 


What you’ll need:



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • CPA license a plus

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and financial software systems; experience with Oracle systems preferred

  • Minimum 3 years’ manufacturing / fabrication accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of and experience in GAAP including financial reporting

  • Solid analytical, quantitative and project management abilities

  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-pace, lean operation

  • Excellent, diplomatic communication and leadership skills

  • Results oriented, self-driven abilities in a team environment
