We are a highly reputable civil engineering construction firm located just outside the Washington Metro area.

We provide engineering services as it relates to power distribution, gas distribution, manhole install/repair, communications/ fiberoptic solutions, feasibility studies, value engineering, & traffic control. Since we started about 5 years ago, we've been completing complex underground projects with a continued demand for our services and growth within the company. We are currently hiring for a Safety Officer (OSHA 30 or 500 preferred) who really loves to coach and help develop with our team.

What You Will Be Doing - Advise & instruct on safety related topics
- Work onsite at specific job site (typically 5-7 months at a time and then transferred to another active job site)-
- Conduct risk assessment & enforce preventative measures
- Organize training of employees & executives
- Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
- Monitor & investigate any incidents to determine cause/ handle workers comp claims
- Prepare reports and provide stats to upper management

-Most job sites within a 30 minute radius from HQ in Sterling
What You Need for this Position 2+ years of experience in preparing & enforcing Safety Programs on large projects plus:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field preferred -
- OSHA 30
- First Aid/ CPR
- Bilingual a plus!
- Experience in excavation & trench safety a plus!
- Ability to establish good relationships inside and outside of the company
- High proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials &/or practices

-Degree requirements can be waived with enough relatable experience
