The Massage Therapist is responsible for conducting massage therapy to residents and staff in order to relieve discomfort,

ease muscle tension and to aid in the rehabilitation of injuries to residents.  Position can be full or part-time, you set your own hours and your income potential is based on how much you want to work. Must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.

MASSAGE THERAPIST ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for conferring with residents to learn what problems they may have with stress or pain. This helps to determine what type of massage would be the most beneficial.


• The massage therapist must gauge the condition of the resident’s soft tissues, the joint function and quality, range of motion, and muscle strength.


• The therapist must propose a specific treatment plan for the resident. When needs have been established, the massage therapist massages the soft tissues and muscles to provide the treatment that has been determined.

MASSAGE THERAPIST ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Massage Therapist.


• High School Diploma or equivalent.


• Two years of long term care desirable. Med-surg, Home Health experience helpful. Also, working with the handicapped and older adults preferred.


• Must hold medical professional liability insurance at a minimum of $1 million.
