Job Description:

We are looking for a talented, dynamic Director of HRIS and IT Workforce Strategy to join our team specializing in HRIS, Workforce Strategy functions for our Cummins Filtration organization headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. The role is designated hybrid, allowing you to work from your home office and requires less than 5% overall travel.

In this role, the Director will make an impact in the following ways:


  • While reporting to the global IT leader, you will lead and deliver multiple key initiatives

  • Leads the functional solution design, implementation, integration, change management and support of company-wide Human Resources technologies

  • Partners with key stakeholders to ensure the effective design and delivery of integrated business solutions

  • Provides program leadership for new technology solutions, implementations, and systems integrations

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, application standards and legislative requirements

  • Develops and oversees the IT Workforce Strategy encompassing insource / outsource, location strategies, and strategic workforce planning processes

  • Oversees the college recruiting process for the IT function, including sourcing, branding, attracting, and managing the talent pipeline for entry-level talent

  • Establishes and maintains channels for sourcing diverse IT talent along with IT retention programs including but not limited to stretch assignments, job rotations and mentoring programs for the IT function

  • Ensures effective integration of human resources solutions across the enterprise; leads resolution of the most complex integrations

  • Keeps up to date with new trends and technologies; leads the evaluation of new and changing solutions; leads best practice reviews

  • Plans operating and project budgets, manages ongoing financial and resource forecasts

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Human Resources Information Systems Design: evaluates and defines Human Resource technology solutions to meet business needs; designs integrated technology enabled business processes

Education


  • College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Human Resources, preferred

  • Deep technical knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems Design, required

  • 8-10 years cross business unit experience in a highly complex, matrix organization, required

Experience

The Director of HRIS and IT Workforce Strategy will play a critical role in delivering HRIS systems for the Filtration business as described above. In addition, this leader will play a critical role in ensuring we are attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse and capable IT workforce.  


  • Serve as a key member of the Filtration IT leadership team

  • Partner with Filtration executives and leaders in Human Resources to create, implement and sustain a strategic IT roadmap

  • Develop & execute the IT Learning & Development strategy for the Filtration business

  • Directs the functional design, configuration, development, testing and change management activities for new and changing applications and solutions

  • Directs the evaluation, testing and implementation of system patches, enhancements, and upgrades; ensures timely application upgrades

  • Leads the evaluation of requested system changes and impact of changes to the entire system and monitors the status of change requests

  • Monitors the ongoing effectiveness of internal controls and data security

  • Leads the development and monitoring of performance metrics; leads continuous improvement initiatives

  • Establishes and leads vendor partnerships

  • Ensures functional strategies for IT systems align with the overall IT strategy for the Filtration business

  • Responsible for standing up new HR systems for the Filtration business

  • Responsible for a team of approximately 3 global employees

  • Oversees support for HR applications through a managed service provider

  • Prior experience working with HRIS systems is required

  • Prior experience with Oracle applications is strongly preferred, especially with the HR modules

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
