The Opportunity
Based primarily out of St. Francis, with rotational opportunities at AMITA Saint Mary & Elizabeth Medical Center and AMITA Saint Joseph Joliet
9 month program designed to train PA's utilizing didactic and clinical experience
8 months spent rotating through the Emergency Department and 1 month off service on trauma
Clinical hours in acute EM care as well as rotating through trauma, plus additional lecture time, workshops, didactics, and more
Hands-on clinical training and close supervision provided by NCCPA certified PAs and BE/BC Emergency Physicians
Off-site rotations through two other Emergency Departments
This is a paid fellowship with benefits and malpractice insurance included
Required Experience and Competencies
Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program
Eligible for and/or possess current IL Medical Board Physician Assistant licensure (eligible candidates must be fully licensed by the start of the program)
Eligible for and/or possess current DEA licensure (eligible candidates must be fully licensed by the start of the program)
Current certification in both ACLS and BLS
Previous EMS/ED work experience is highly desirable but notrequired

January Cohort
First day of training: January 1st, 2023
For applicants graduating in or before May 2022
March Cohort
First day of training: March 1st, 2023
For applicants graduating after May 2022

AMITASt. Mary & Elizabeth Medical Center is a comprehensive ED and is part of a ten-hospital health system.
The St. Mary & Elizabeth inpatient areas have over 450inpatient beds and represent the largest hospital on the northwest side of Chicago. It also represents the largest hospital in the metropolitan area in which Family Medicine is the only sponsored medical residency program.
The St. Elizabeth Campus facility focuses primarily on psychiatric services, skilled nursing, and outpatient surgery.
St. Mary &Elizabeth represents the 2nd largest behavioral health hospital in Illinois.
Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center
Saint Joseph Medical Center's inpatient areas have over 450 inpatient beds. The ED sees over 60,000 visits and is designated as a Level II Trauma Center.
