Job Description:

Maintenance Technician - Mechanic, Mechanical, electrical, PLC We are looking for an available maintenance mechanic to perform maintenance and repair of various electrical/mechanical systems and other Manufacturing equipment at our American Canyon/Napa, CA area industrial plant.
What You Will Be Doing This position is responsible for maintaining the facilities production equipment and systems.

We are currently Looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform installations and maintenance of our industrial equipment.

As a Maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment.

This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment and breakdowns.

To ensure success as a Maintenance technician, you should have advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, excellent troubleshooting skills, and good time management skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings/blueprints
- Reading electrical prints
- Installing new production equipment.
- Servicing and maintaining equipment including electric motors, conveyor systems, transmissions system, and production related equipment.
- Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical breakdowns on production equipment.
- Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools
- Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades
- Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks
- Communicating with production team and maintaining a clean work area.
- Preparing and submitting maintenance reports
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Maximize company revenue by maximum up-time on production machines.
- Work with Maintenance manager to continually update the production process and system software.
- Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime.
- Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists and hand tools.
- Assess the condition of used parts using micrometers, calipers and specifications.
- Maintain parts and tools inventory.
- Prepare maintenance reports and summary presentations using daily activity logs, analysis and trends.
- Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading.
- Strong organizational and follow up skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
What You Need for this Position KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have strong equipment installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance experience.
- Previous FABRICATION experience, including welding and other fabricating skills desired.
- Combination of Mechanical and electrical systems work experience, including systematic troubleshooting, repair.
- Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Material Handling system experience.
- Some facilities work, including HVAC, Electrical, Boiler system work experience is a PLUS
- Must be able to install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and drawings
- Must be able to use the computer to input PM data
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be physically able to climb, bend and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
