The Buyer/Planner will have overall responsibility for finished goods material purchasing and supplier management. Coordinate purchase management with other functions to ensure Customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Develop/maintain the material requirements for fasteners and lateral systems based on the forecasted demand, including Supplier forecasts and inventory levels
Participate in developing supply base capacity plans
Work with sales and marketing on forecast and planning to eliminate stock outs
Communicate all forecasts and capacity requirements to supply base
Generate and manage purchase orders to satisfy changing demand and meet inventory goals
Manage supplier performance including cost variance, delivery and quality
Track and report all supplier performance metrics to management
Maintain system data including supplier and product information
Implement cost savings programs relative to overall company budget targets
Assist with new product development, including new part setup
Work with Quality team to address any issues that arise regarding product quality. Ensures quality standards are adhered to by all vendors and assists in resolving any related issues.
Resolve invoice and accounting discrepancies with supply base
Expedite product, as necessary
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree in business or the equivalent applicable work experience
Three (3) years of buyer, purchasing, or procurement experience
Able to read engineering technical documents and work instructions
Able to understand and communicate special process requirements to vendors
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with ERP/MRP software systems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Attention to detail required.
