Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-4 x per year.




The Software Defined Vehicle team supports the definition, design, and development of this new vehicle intelligence platform that will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving. This means that you can potentially put a fingerprint on the vehicles that drive down the road! This space is bursting with emerging technical leadership opportunities. You can flex your collaboration muscles as you will be tasked with working with several other areas of engineering, IT, and the business.



Connected Vehicle is the new frontier and the race is on to deliver engaging, meaningful in-vehicle experiences! We provide Fleet and Connected Vehicle data solutions for our customers to effectively manage their business and fleets through innovative solutions. In this critical role, you will contribute to the development of partner applications implemented in the infotainment systems across GM brands on a global scale and directly impact the partner and developer ecosystems.


As a Product Owner on the Software Defined Vehicles Energy and Connected Mobility Services group, you will work hand in hand with customers and partners throughout the entire product development lifecycle, with a focus on requirements gathering and story writing.




Responsibilities:




  • Define the product backlog and product roadmap for OnStar team product(s)

  • Set a clear vision and Release Plan for the product(s)

  • Product Vision and Backlog Management

  • Constant prioritization of the Product Backlog based on customer feedback, market changes and business priority

  • Determine appropriate product Release Date and Content

  • Actively lead internal and external partners

  • Accept or reject the product teams work results at each Sprint Review meeting

  • Provide regular reporting, including product scope, schedule and planning

  • Working with the product team to provide clear vision, direction and priority of the Product Backlog

  • Manage / Provide the Partner Sprint Schedule

  • Get to know the products on various hardware and coordinate in-vehicle and in-field testing with global partners via the OnStar Lab

Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree in various fields of study are applicable - Computer Science, Engineering, marketing, project management or equivalent experience

  • 5+ experience in a product owner or equivalent role

  • Ability to set and balance priorities efficiently.

  • Ability to advocate for partners and ensure efficiencies of implementation across departments

  • Some knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and activities.

  • A clear ability to lead a variety of different personality types in a facilitative and emotionally intelligent manner

  • Positive relationship building skills, including the ability to relate constructively to all levels of the organization
