What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems Corporation is looking for a Project Management Oversight Lead to join our growing team in the Oakland, CA team.  This role can be virtual with the right candidate being located anywhere within the United States.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Independently performs complex tasks using advanced project and program management techniques consulting with Project Manager, Senior Planners and/or Senior Engineers on problems.

  • May become involved in the management of smaller projects or phases and tasks within large projects, as well as the supervision, coordination and review of the work of less experienced planners and technicians.

  • Develop, prepare, and/or review federal grant applications and/or grant related documents such as scopes of services, schedules and budgets.

  • Works with a range of local, state and federal clients and stakeholders on large and small scale transportation improvement projects.

  • Consults with superiors and clients on problems associated with technical specialties in planning, engineering and project delivery.

  • Coordinates teamwork tasks and reviews progress with all staff and those associated with the project.

  • Recommends governmental responses to policies and procedures.

  • Participates on interdisciplinary teams, providing knowledge in specific planning and/or engineering areas.

  • Organizes, attends, and has significant participation in client meetings and interviews.

  • Prepares reports, proposals, graphics, and presentation materials.

  • Offers innovative concepts and ideas in an effort to advance projects and the company’s ability to perform work



What you bring to our firm:

  • The ideal candidate 10+ years of professional experience on a diverse range of transportation-related projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.

  • Experience in planning, public administration or a related field desired.

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.

  • Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and various software systems.

  • PE credentials preferred.
