Virtual Branch Advisor at Interra Credit Union

Job Description:

Serves as the primary contact on submitted forms, signatures, consumer loan applications (secured, unsecured, HELOC) and new member accounts opened through the online and contact center channels. Participates in various marketing campaigns or promotions to affect positive results for the credit union. Ensures all online loans and accounts are contacted in a timely and efficient manner. Ability to thrive on meeting and exceeding goals with a passion for exceeding member expectations. Willing and able to work flexible, nontraditional hours.


Major Duties and Responsibilities



  • Strong participation in a sales & service culture to exceed monthly production goals. Ability to successfully sell point of sale products and solutions on varying consumer loan products to meet or exceed Credit Union goals.

  • Contacts existing and prospective members identified from various account applications, MCIF reports or other sources, to maintain and expand member relationships. Seeks to achieve strategic credit union goals which may include loan and deposit growth. Makes outbound calls to new and existing members to highlight the advantage of consumer services offered by the credit union to help members achieve their financial goals.

  • Works with members who apply on-line or over the phone to develop information concerning their consumer loan needs, earnings, and financial condition. Explains consumer loan programs and recommends options. Collects appropriate documentation (pay stubs, purchase agreements, insurance information, etc.) Contacts Central Underwriting for final loan decision.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be extremely personable on the phone or in-person via video conferencing system.

  • Administers appropriate file maintenance to members’ accounts including, but not limited to, change of address, share comments/warnings and name changes. Prepares letters and other necessary correspondence, including new member letters and closed account letters.


Knowledge and Skills


Experience
Two-five years of similar or related experience with a history of meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals, including time spent in preparatory positions.


Education/Certifications/Licenses
A high school degree or GED is required.


Interpersonal Skills
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job along with an outgoing and sales oriented personality. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving and obtaining information, as well as advising or referring, which commonly require shorter discussions.

Physical Requirements
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.


Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.


Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
