Assist supervisor and provide leadership for a group engaged in all inspection and calibration activities. Position involves interaction with numerous engineering disciplines, department managers and hourly functions. Identify opportunities to improve methods and best utilize work group skills. Responsible for performing inspections in accordance with standard work instruction when not engaged in leadership activities. Ability to work in a team environment while having a strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement and safety. Actively maintain a safe, clean and comfortable work environment. Motivate teams, leverage skills and provide support to assure effective execution.
Role & Responsibility
Follow broad instructions from supervisor, to plan workflow and direct work group assigned to inspection and calibration.
Apply proactive, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing and communicating process issues, supporting continuous improvement as a top priority of the position
May perform the work necessary to ensure inspections/calibrations are carried out to meet manufacturing needs
Devise and improvise new methods and recommend improvements to inspection and calibration processes
Apply root-cause techniques when faced with problems and use knowledge gained to mistake-proof the process
Train and develop others to attain optimal quality performance and to enhance the group's skill base
Demonstrate through actions that developing talent is equal to all other business responsibilities
Perform and instruct others in the use and care of material handling equipment, effective troubleshooting techniques, and efficient ways to perform root cause analysis
Demonstrate through actions the importance of calculations using advance shop mathematics
Job Requirement - Education & Experience
AA/AS or equivalent
ISO Standards - ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 in a high-volume production environment is a plus
3-4+ years of dedicated quality assurance activities
Experience with computer systems and programs, along with Microsoft Office/Excel/Outlook
Accountability for quality assurance of manufacturing materials and performance of gage calibration of inspection equipment
Knowledge of machine shop and related practices, processes, methods and techniques and tool design principles
Ability to adjust to modified priorities and assignments to meet new and changing needs
Leadership skills and abilities, clear and accurate written and oral communications skills, and record-keeping abilities
