SUMMARY:

Strategic Pricing Lead, in partnership with other key stakeholders, is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and supporting traditional, and creative value-based pricing approaches, including overseeing price recommendations for the Lundbeck portfolio. Accountable to the Lundbeck team for being a subject matter expert on pricing value drivers, Gross to Net, and reimbursement dynamics (inclusive of ASP). Specifically responsible for monitoring the US market for dynamics influential to list and net price, the Strategic Pricing Lead will maintain pricing models to optimize product value. Provide frequent analytic as well as strategic support to the market access functions, working closely with finance, accounting, government affairs, marketing, sales, and legal.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Creates and maintains price optimization models factoring market dynamics, payer contract provisions, legislative and regulatory requirements (federal and state) and gross to net variables

  • Communicate Commercial, Medicare Part D and Mandated pricing principles across US and Global market stakeholders

  • Understand and remain fluent in reimbursement dynamics in the market access space to develop optimizing price recommendations and access potential challenges

  • Maintain ASP/NCR (average sales price & net cost recovery) model for ASP eligible products

  • Partner with Finance and Government Affairs teams to understand pending legislation and the potential financial implications on product forecast

  • Maintain pricing intelligence including environmental trends and knowledge of pricing and market access requirements across customer segments to inform broader strategic recommendations

  • Identify and anticipate key trends and assess opportunities and risks for pricing strategy development.

  • Oversee creation and maintenance of price-related reports (including list, net and GTN) for portfolio and related markets

  • Lead operational efforts such as: price adjustments, pricing model upkeep and improvement, pricing vendor oversight and miscellaneous pricing inquiries

  • Oversee and contribute to pricing market research activities supporting development of pipeline and in-market price evaluations and recommendations

  • Work with HEOR and Value Evidence colleagues to utilize cost effectiveness modeling as pricing input for pipeline price recommendations

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:


  • Accredited Bachelor's degree

  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry experience

  • Pharmaceutical experience in a Pricing, Contracting or Analytics role

  • Strong presentation and communication skills - with exceptional aptitude for learning quickly and ability to communicate technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders

  • Ability to network across a broad internal and external matrix organization and the skills necessary to form strong, productive partnerships and build consensus and acumen

  • Strong working knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing and economic principles

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree preferably in marketing, economics, finance or healthcare management

  • 3+ years experience in Market Access, including payer marketing

  • 1+ years experience in Finance or health economics

  • Working knowledge of economic principles

  • Knowledge of payer contracting to support Strategic Pricing strategies

TRAVEL


  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 25%. International travel may be required.

The range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado and Connecticut and New York City, if selected for this role, and may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $150,000 - $200,000 and eligibility for a 20% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company's long-term incentive plan.
