Position Summary:Case management of adult felony criminal offenders.

Essential Function Statement(s)
Must be a United States citizen.
Must pass law enforcement background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Possess a valid Kansas Drivers License
Monitor adult felony offender progress in a variety of community programs.
Ensure compliance with special court orders, restitution payments and conditions of supervision.
Make court appearances and recommendations that impact the disposition of cases.
Work closely with a network of family, employers and community resources.
Document adult felony offender behavior in the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) computer program, called Total Offender Activity Documentation System (TOADS).
Maintain physical files on adult felony offenders.
Conduct random drug screens.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Duties are performed independently under general guidance from the Supervisor of Adult Services, Deputy Director and Director. Must be proactive to staff, offender and public safety issues. This will require some work after hours and on weekends
Other related duties as necessary or required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Experience:Experience in coordinating rehabilitative resources and services. Knowledge of law enforcement, judicial system, community corrections programs, and community-based services.
Education:Bachelors degree from an accredited 4-year college or university. Suggested majors are criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or related field.
Skills:Typing and computer literacy with Microsoft Office 2010 is essential. Valid Kansas drivers license and reliable transportation. Ability to operate a copy machine, calculator, computer and other related office machines. The ability to receive, interpret and follow oral and/or written communication as well as possess organizational skills. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, county officials, and the public.
Problem Solving:Problem-solving exists in this position. Duties follow prescribed policies and procedures and law.
Decision Making:Decision-making exists in this position.
Accountability:Employee is responsible for budgetary control of the department and does participate in the annual budget process.
Supervision:Employee has supervisory responsibility for subordinate personnel.
Personal Relations:Frequent contact with other KDOC employees/departments, county departments, the criminal element and the general public requiring the ability to communicate and relate in a positive and effective manner.
Working Conditions:Position is at some risk due to working in law enforcement. Weather is usually not a factor.
Requirements:Valid Kansas drivers license and reliable transportation. Must pass a drug screen and law enforcement background check. Bilingual in English-Spanish helpful but not required. Must maintain LSIR certification.
