The role
This role will provide legal support to the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Group Data Services businesses in the United States. You will work across our businesses and help to build the team and streamline the way we work.
Specific accountabilities include:
Negotiating customer data and software license agreements.
Identifying issues, performing legal research, preparing legal analysis memoranda, and advising others in the legal group as well as internal clients.
Working with our US contract managers and business colleagues.
You will advise the business independently on matters in relation to US contract negotiations, regulatory and compliance advice, and other matters.
You will be the only lawyer in the US for Data Services; you will have colleagues in other divisions and areas, but you will be the only US lawyer supporting these particular businesses.

We are part of the wider Risk Solutions Group legal function within the RELX group. Colleagues in privacy, compliance, and regulatory teams provide specialist input when required. We value a collaborative working environment, so you will participate fully in the team and be a go-to contact for others in the team as well as the businesses you support. Collaboration and the ability to build relationships both within the legal team and with the business are key.

Technically excellent and experienced in dealing with commercial contracts in software, SaaS, and/or data licensing. Experience in regulatory matters or practicing law in the finance industry or finance-adjacent fields is a plus.
A qualified lawyer in in a US state with 5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
