HR Compliance and Credentialing Specialist at Anaheim Admin

Job Description:

Planned Parenthood of Orange County and San Bernardino is looking for a full-time HR Compliance & Credentialing Specialist.  This position will conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with Federal, State employment law, as well as PPFA and PPOSBC affiliate agency requirements. Develop tracking tools and compliance reports. Assist in compiling external reports; EEO-1, CA Fair Pay. Assist the department in compiling information and preparing for quarterly CQERM audits, and annual RQM audits. Process I-9 verifications and re-certifications for staff. Conduct monthly OIG-HHS sanction checks for all employees, contractors, residents, interns, and volunteers. Assist in managing provider credentialing. Track license and certification expirations for all providers. Send communication to providers with expiring licenses and certifications. Work in partnership with clinic management staff to ensure that all licenses and certifications are updated in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:  Essential functions encompass the required tasks, duties and responsibilities performed as part of the job and the reason the job exists.


  • Ensure that the Human Resources Department has an internal and external reputation of competency, fairness, confidentiality and the highest level of customer service.

  • Remain current on all applicable labor laws, regulatory compliance and standards of practice relating to position.

  • Uses, protects, and discloses employee protected health information (PHI) in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and company guidelines.

 

Compliance


  • Review all new hire and termination files to ensure complete and accurate documentation for all onboarding and offboarding employees.

  • Process I-9 verifications for all new hires. Re-certify I-9 document for employees with expiring work authorization forms.

  • Maintain OSHA 300 logs for all worksites.

  • Assist in auditing files for quarterly CQERM audit.

  • Process monthly OIG/HHS sanction checks for all employees, contractors, residents, interns, and volunteers.

  • Review DMV pull notices for drivers.

  • Conduct monthly license check for all non-healthcare practitioners.

  • Ensure compliance policies are implemented.

  • Ensure relevant documents follow PPOSBC’s guidelines and standards.

  • Assist the Associate VP in managing agency reporting requirements, including EEO-1, CA Fair Pay.

  • Maintain department project log and activities.

  • Identify and keep management informed of any ongoing compliance issues.

  • Monitor new laws and regulations related to HR compliance.

Credentialing


  • Review credentialing packets submitted by recruiters for positions requiring licenses/certifications.

  • Compile and maintain current and accurate data for all providers.

  • Track license and certification expirations for all providers to ensure timely renewals.

  • Work in partnership with clinic management staff in ensuring that all licenses and certifications are submitted in a timely manner.

  • Audit Verisys database, ensuring current and accurate information for all providers.

  • Monitor 60-day, 30-day, and 15-day reports from Verisys.

  • Review monthly internal audits.

  • Assist in managing escalation process for communication on expired licensing and certification.

  • Maintain internal credentialing audit tool.

  • Keep up to date with current credentialing legislation and healthcare industry standards.

Minimum Education:


  • Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; or, an equivalent combination of training and work experience.

 

Minimum Work Experience:


  • 3-5 years of credentialing experience required.

  • 1-2 years of experience in human resources required.

  • Experience in a healthcare setting required.

  • Must thrive in a fast paced, rigorous environment with changing priorities.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

  • Must demonstrate high level computer skills including; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Electronic medical records experience may also be required.
