Schedule Days : Monday - Friday

Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week)

Job Summary:

Essential Functions:

Additional Responsibilities:


  1. Maintains open communication with Sales Account Managers, Rental Territory Managers, and customers.
  2. Process rental through direct contact with customer or Empire facilitator.
  3. Performs miscellaneous staff functions.
  4. Takes after hours responsibility whenever needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  5. Maintains a record of all phone calls through extensive use of phone logs provided by Rental Department.
  6. Maintains correct levels of inventory in attachment items for usage on current rental models.
  7. Dispatches Empire owned transport trucks for pick up and delivery of Empire or customer owned machines.
  8. Assumes overall leadership and responsibility for performance of coordinator desk and coordinator position in general.
  9. Must accomplish training and serve as a Green Belt in support of Empire's Six Sigma program.
  10. Works within and promotes corporate values.

Additional Level Requirements


  • Rental Coordinator II: 36 months minimum experience in Rental Industry or EM Rental with minimum 12 months working at EM Rental.
  • Rental Coordinator III: Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers. In-depth and extensive knowledge of the Caterpillar product line. Must have in-depth and thorough familiarity with rental/lease agreements, rental/lease billings as well as tire reports, damage reports, and purchase option agreements. Must have in-depth and thorough product knowledge of the Caterpillar product line including model designations and equipment applications.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:


  1. Must have interpersonal skills to cooperatively direct people and expedite machinery rental, lease, demonstration, and sales transactions.
  2. Must have in-depth and thorough product knowledge of the Caterpillar product line including model designations and equipment applications.
  3. Must have in-depth and thorough familiarity with rental/lease agreements, rental/lease billings as well as tire reports, damage reports, and purchase option agreements.
  4. Must have at least awareness if not relationships with rental customers and their operations.
  5. Must have sufficient math skills to calculate rates and rental amounts.
  6. 24 months minimum experience in Rental Industry or EM Rental.
  7. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:


  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
  3. In-depth and extensive knowledge of the Caterpillar product line.
  4. Proficiency in DBS, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  5. Ability to perform clerical skills and type at least 30 words per minute.
