We’re glad you’re exploring our Shaver Operator position and want to share some of the details.
First, it is a great opportunity for those with greater than 2 years manufacturing experience to join our team and make a difference in the lives of others.
Second, as a Shaver Operator, you’ll set up, change tooling, and operate the shaver to remove material in order to meet the size and surface requirements of the customer or to remove mill seams and flaws from the supplier. You will monitor quality and surface conditions of the material during the shaving process. Inspect the mounted wire for quality and surface conditions. Determine the amount of material to shave off and the increments to meet the specifications of the customer. You will operate forklift to move large coils of wire up to 3000 lbs, to prepare them for use on the shaver. You will also operate swager to create a point on the wire for entry into the shaver.
The maximum weight may depend on the department but is generally between 60 and 80 pounds.
