The Traffic Control Officer position plays a key role in helping to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic while monitoring security around the terminals. The Traffic Control Officer is also responsible for providing customer service to passengers and guests as they move throughout the airport grounds.

Essential Day-to-Day Activities:

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. 


  • Provides safe and effective movement of vehicles in and around the terminals on assigned shifts on a 24/7 basis.

  • Directs traffic for law enforcement, fire, EMS, and rescue.

  • Patrols crosswalks and assists pedestrians.

  • Inspects vendors, delivery of merchandise, delivery vehicles, and maintains log sheet of outgoing delivery vehicles to the terminal.

  • Enforces Airport Authority ground traffic ordinances.

  • Provides customer service, answers question, gives directions to airport and off-airport locations, provides parking and flight information, assists customers with finding their passengers, bags, and left items, etc.

  • Assists customers in distress, call for EMS, provides first aid and provides comfort and assurance until EMS arrives.

  • Identifies threat indicators and reacts accordingly to level of threat.

  • Performs related work as required.

  • Correct level of response for each situation English grammar, spelling, punctuation

Hiring Range: $16.11 - $22.69
