About you

You will share with the Local EH&S Leader the responsibility for leading Louisiana Operations' IH (industrial hygiene) compliance performance improvement through implementation of the industrial hygiene management system (work processes, standards, procedures) in order to add value and to meet business/site and hub objectives as well as maintain the license to operate.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Lead implementation of new and or complex global industrial hygiene standards, requirements and improvement initiatives.


  • Accountable for governance to ensure completion of qualitative and quantitative exposure risk assessments (Cority) for chemicals, noise, ergonomics, radiation and other IH-related items across the region. Responsible to provide coaching and mentoring to local delivery to help them successfully complete the Exposure Assessment process.


  • Responsible for coaching local delivery on the development of IH monitoring strategy and plans. Accountable for governance to ensure monitoring strategy and plans are effectively implemented to control risk.


  • Coordinate, implement and optimize site industrial hygiene programs for facilities and sites across the Louisiana Hub.


  • Utilize industrial hygiene expertise to obtain clear interpretations of global requirements.


  • Fulfills governmentally required Radiation Safety Officer role.


  • Can perform industrial hygiene focal point roles (e.g., asbestos focal point, PPE and respiratory protection focal point, etc.), as assigned


  • Coaches, trains and mentors site H&S Technicians in regards to their industrial hygiene responsibilities.


  • Initiates and supports Management of Change for EH&S IH programs and compliance matters as necessary.


Required qualifications:


  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking


  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Your preferred qualifications include:


  • A degree in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or other science related discipline


  • A minimum of 5 years of EH&S or related experience


Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Perform occasional bending, reaching, and lifting, working in tight or closed-in spaces, climb stairs/ladders and working at heights as well as standing or walking for extended periods of time


  • Essential functions of this position may require, among other things, that the employee use particular types of equipment -- such as on-site safety equipment that has specific weight limitations whereby the individual's own weight, plus the weight of tools and other items and materials, must not exceed a certain threshold. (For example, some types of safety equipment may be rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds total.)
