Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Site Infrastructure & Improvement Manager located in Hahnville, LA.

About you

Our new Infrastructure and Improvement Manager serves as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to resolve plant problems and enable safe and efficient operations of Site Infrastructure equipment, applying technical and organizational skills to drive the plant level continuous improvement program targeted at delivering maximum value from the assets, while continuously improving process safety. Performs routine assignments and solves standard problems using existing procedures. Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Facilitates development of the facility maintenance strategy and budget. Focuses on those opportunities that over a long-term period or historically have impacted the plant's measured asset capability and the opportunities identified as "high-risk" in risk assessments, reliability models, and other evaluations. Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within job discipline.

Also, can complete each of the following tasks:


  • Leads and supports plant continuous improvement activities aligned to the PSTP and also supports the capital plan for the facility. Leads continuous improvement activities for the facility and may serve in specific GPM related roles of project manager or manufacturing representative.

  • Supports the facility root cause investigation process by serving as a team member or facilitator for incidents related to process technology.

  • Serves as the implementation arm of the technology center. This includes serving as the local focal point for Most Effective Technology (MET) implementation, and LOPA / LPP follow-up.

  • Ensures compliance with plant operating permits. Understands site integration and provides input to optimize the overall system.

  • Responds urgently to plant issues and emergencies.

  • Works closely with the operations team leveraging their problem solving skills and technical expertise.

  • Elevates and appropriately applies knowledge of the plant and technology referencing historical data and conferring with Technology Center or other subject matter experts (SMEs).

  • Provides engineering input for work packages to ensure standards are followed, as required. Provides input on development of work orders during development of turnaround work particularly on critical equipment requiring engineering review or input.

  • Completes EH&S orientation and all required training. Exhibits safe work behaviors and works safely without injury or insult to the environment. Fulfills all requirements of the production area and/or maintenance area EH&S.

  • Supports Industrial Hygiene and other EH&S work process activities. Incorporates safety considerations in planning and maintenance implementation. Understands impact of process chemistry with respect to materials of construction or lubrication.

  • Facilitates and/or contributes greatly to driving proactive PPM Optimization activities to support overall productivity improvements.

  • Facilitates the annual maintenance budget setting process.

Process Safety


  • Assure the proper technical advice and knowledge are present in key decisions impacting plant safety.

  • Champions process safety activities and acts as a resource for relevant process safety concerns. Partners with plant operation and maintenance personnel to identify and track performance indicators to be used in identification of technology gaps and continuous improvement opportunities

  • Assure implementation of Dow's requirements and technology for process safety and reactive chemicals at the plant level.

  • Plant Resource on Process Safety/Reactive Chemicals issues.

Required qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking OR Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • A minimum of 3 years of engineering, manufacturing, project management, or other related experience is preferred.
