Dow has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior EH&S Operations Leader located in Plaquemine, LA.

About you

As the Senior EH&S Operations Leader, you will oversee the implementation of the EH&S management system for Glycol 1 (PO/PG), Glycol 2 (EO/Amines), and Environmental Operations in Louisiana Operations. You will ensure that the business and site objectives are met and the license to operate is maintained. You will define EH&S staffing and other resource needs and lead the EH&S team to achieve effective EH&S management system implementation. You will be an influential leader for all employees and contractors from all functions in Glycol 1 (PO/PG), Glycol 2 (EO/Amines), and Environmental Operations in ensuring Personal and Process Safety are always the priority. You will set priorities and allocate resources to align with business objectives and plans of execution. As a leader, you will foster a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Owns and implements the EH&S people work processes, tools and procedures and ensure effective execution in order to attain and maintain an effective EH&S organizational support structure.

  • Drives cost-effective implementation of EH&S systems through standard work processes, common systems, collaboration with Company expertise groups, appropriate role assignment and training.

  • Coaches employees in EH&S roles and identify opportunities to leverage EH&S resources, technicians, empowered teams.

  • Translates the needs of the EH&S leadership into a comprehensive action plan with clients.

  • Drives implementation and maintenance of the work processes necessary within the client's organization to ensure compliance with local and country environmental, health, and safety legal requirements and the Company internal requirements.

  • Influential leader for all employees and contractors from all functions in Glycol 1 (PO/PG), Glycol 2 (EO/Amines), and Environmental Operations in ensuring Personal and Process Safety are always the priority.

Required qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an Engineering or other technical Science discipline or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing or a related field

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership competency
