The Cost Accounting Manager will perform a wide range of accounting functions with emphasis on cost accounting, month-end closing and inventory management. The role provides key product cost data to top management on a monthly basis. Also, it will prepare timely, accurate and meaningful reports, cost analyses and cost factor recommendations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain product sales and cost of sales records.
Ensure accurate cost standards are established and variances properly recorded.
Analyze gross margins to ensure accurate product costing.
Prepare and analyze assigned cost accounting journal vouchers and account reconciliations.
Participate and support month-end closings.
Ensure procedures are followed for S&O material and that appropriate reserves are maintained.
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and assist with periodic inventories.
Perform internal control reviews as assigned.
Participate in year-end closing activities (10K, tax and audit schedules).
Required Experience and/or Education:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
6 years progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in the discipline/technology/process related to the position
1 to 3 years managing teams and/or significant projects
