Job Description:

Must be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts, or Evernorth. Evernorth is a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

The candidate will act as a technical architect/analyst for major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs for the Digital Engineering team.Provide comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level on all phases of application programming and processes for diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.).This position will understand the business problems and opportunities in context of the requirements and will be able to translate those requirements into solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Participate in gathering and analyzing all business requirements and defining information systems solutions to address complex business needs (projects are technically difficult, requiring innovative and creative solutions and frequently involve multiple platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools) for Digital Engineering.

  • Responsible for converting business requirements into application requirements for Digital Engineering.

  • Responsible for the creation of functional specifications and use stories.

  • Ensure that project deliverables are completed within committed time and budget.

  • Create and maintain business partnerships as appropriate

  • Assist to provide comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff on all phases of the project development cycle.

  • Assists business units on approaches to address business needs and opportunities.

  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques

  • Provide technical expertise through a hands-on approach to teams and projects developing capabilities for one or more applications within Digital IT.

  • Assists in translation of business requirements into meaningful requirements or stories.

  • Architectural roadmap(s) - short term/long term

  • Apply expertise and research designs with subject matter experts to devise requirements, design specifications, and usage criteria for Big Data/Cloud solutions.

  • Maintain involvement in continuous improvement of Big Data/Cloud solution processes, tools and templates.

  • Responsible for leading the design and maintaining solutions conformant to enterprise standards, architecture, and technologies.

  • Provide oversight, direction and mentoring to ensure adherence to business direction, architectural strategies, and enterprise technology standards.

  • Offer guidance on use of appropriate Big Data/Cloud tools to meet project needs.

  • Collaborate with developers and business users for overall design oversight on Big Data/Cloud solutions

  • Maintain expertise and proficiency with Big Data/Cloud technologies using business intelligence best practices.

  • Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of business domains, heath care analytics, and industry trends in order to develop an enterprise view of Cigna's Big Data/Cloud needs.

  • Demonstrates and promotes creativity and innovation. Proactively seeks out alternative solutions to business problems.

What you should have:

  • Proven ability to guide requirements elicitation for assigned projects through the use of Agile methodology

  • Would prefer experience with translating all levels of requirements into capabilities/business epics for consumption based agile delivery teams.

  • Knowledge of the Health care industry is preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Track record of consistently driving projects to completion and taking accountability for work and results. Confronts tough issues and situations.

  • Technical expertise regardingdata models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques (AWS Services & tools, S3 Databricks, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase).

  • Excellent Data analysis skills

  • Knowledge of Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark (including pyspark), Spark streaming, Kafka, Scala, Python, MapReduce, Yarn, Hive, Oozie, SQL, Impala, HBase

  • Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with service offerings full AWS platform

  • AWS architecture including: IAM, ELB, EC2, S3, RDS, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, Lamda, Cloudformation, Cloudfront, Autoscaling, EMR, Data Pipeline, Security Groups

  • RESTful service design, documentation, and implementation experience

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with an advanced degree preferred and at least five, typically seven years of solid, diverse work experience in IT, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Proven collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to resolve conflict, deliver tough messages and be able to execute with limited information

  • Ability to work closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction

  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments.

  • Strong ability to act as a liaison with either internal or external client

  • Ability to think strategically and implement iteratively. Ability to estimate financial impact of design/architecture alternatives.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both with business customers, technical team members and other technical contributors across the organization.

  • Comfortable negotiating and presenting to both IT and Business personnel

  • Ability to produce clear and concise requirement artifacts

  • Strong time management skills; highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must be able to relate complicated business systems in easy to understand language

  • Medium-large scale experience in full project life cycle across multiple platforms and technologies

  • Strong experience with tools or techniques for story boarding, requirements repositories and flow-charting

  • Strong experience/aptitude for working with remote project teams; most teams are not in the same physical space. Ability to facilitate large meetings by coordinating via phone, Web-Ex and various other techniques.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $99,100 - $165,100, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
