Job Summary

Responsible for planning, analysis and interpretation of financial information for Medicare. The role involves financial budgeting and forecasting for all direct operating expenses for Medicare team. The candidate should be able to utilize independent judgment and discretion to identify trends, variances, and key issues and assist business with recommendations for adjustment and changes. Prepares financial reports on monthly and quarterly basis to provide business with insights on actuals and variances. Prepares moderate to complex financial projections and reporting for various projects. Reviews and analyzes allocations recorded by Corporate and drills into variances compared to prior projections. Should be well versed with operating budgets, monthly financial close activities including journal entries, accruals, preparation of financial schedules, variance analysis and ability to drive business results through interaction with business leads. Has knowledge of Hyperion, Oracle, Workday, Database applications, advanced Excel and Access.

Responsibilities


  • Builds, analyzes and supports annual budget and expense process with key business partners for different areas


  • Prepares monthly/quarterly and annual projections and identifies emerging trends


  • Analyzes, reconciles and manages key actual vs. budget variances


  • Reviews monthly financial information and records journal vouchers and accruals to appropriately report results


  • Ability to analyze results while working with different partners and prepare multiple reporting packages for their review


  • Meet with business leads monthly to discuss actuals and ensure their understanding on variances and input on upcoming projections


  • Update corporate templates with monthly/quarterly commentary on results for operating expenses and headcount


  • Prepare quarterly projection packages for discussion with leadership including rollforwards and other supporting schedules


  • Update all projections in Hyperion on a quarterly basis and pull reports from Hyperion on a monthly basis


  • Review and reconcile allocations received from Corporate to ensure correct methodology is used.


  • Review and reconcile labor related data for Medicare resources.


  • Review and reconcile broker commission's projections and analyze variances.


  • Review and reconcile all vendor charges to ensure correct payments are made.


  • Review and reconcile real estate charges for Medicare


  • Leads development of Medicare Bid through projection of Operating Expenses for multiple departments


  • Assist in any other projects as required


  • Support all other Finance objectives as needed


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field


  • 3-5+ years of financial planning and analysis experience


  • Experience with Medicare or Insurance Products necessary for this role


  • Strong analytical skills to quickly work through data and summarize findings


  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written


  • Strong detail-orientation


  • Strong technical skills, using Microsoft Excel and Access and other databases


For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $66,800 - $111,400, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
