Remote, work from home - United States

The FMO Broker Sales Strategist at Cigna Medicare will be a critical team member responsible for making Cigna a market leader in the Medicare Advantage space. This individual will be part of a rapidly growing business unit that will execute on Cigna's broker distribution strategy with Field Marketing Organizations (FMO's) that are not directly contracted with Cigna as a topline.

Travel: 50% Nationally (must be located close to major airport)

Medicare experience required.


  • Partner with National Strategist and Topline Agency to develop and coordinate the implementation of sales and expansion strategies for assigned Medicare Advantage FMO partners and their downline agencies.

  • Formulate win strategies based on a deep understanding of our competition and the strategic implications within Medicare Advantage.

  • Develop growth strategies that include agent recruitment, co-op marketing, retail and community events, and physician marketing with all assigned FMOs.

  • Drive the relationship development and agent engagement of downline agency partners by collaborating with regional and local sales personnel within Cigna Medicare.

  • Work with assigned FMO partners annually to expand their hierarchy and agent footprint within Cigna Medicare Advantages' existing and expansion markets to accelerate revenue growth.

  • Manage performance ofFMO partnersand hold them accountable to deliver best in class results including new sales, member retention and compliance.

  • Partner with internal business partners to build a best in class experience for agents and agencies representing Cigna Medicare Advantage.

  • Work with FMO partners to create opportunities and build synergies across the Medicare product continuum that support a "no wrong door" approach to Cigna.

  • Manage relationships with matrix partners and collaborate on opportunities that enhance sales, retention and maximize agent engagement within Cigna Medicare.

  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external partners, driving positive energy through influential leadership.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant work experience.

  • 5 or more years of experience in the senior market preferred.

  • Medicare experience required.

  • Experience in business development and the execution of sales strategies for Medicare Advantage agents, agencies or FMOs preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in a wholesale distribution model.

  • Strongcommunication, interpersonal, presentation and speaking skills.

  • Strategic thinker capable of developing long term and best in class external distribution relationships.

  • Proven ability to develop relationships across all levels of the organization and with matrix partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and utilize resources to accomplish tasks.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
