Position Summary::

The University of Alabama School of Music seeks an instructor with specialized skills in band and wind conducting. The University Bands program is comprehensive and includes Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, University Band, The Million Dollar Band, and pep bands. It also supports both the M.M. and D.M.A. in Wind Conducting. The instructor's experience must reflect these objectives.


Courses taught will include: Fundamentals of Conducting, Concert Band, and assist with Marching Band and Pep Bands. The instructor would also assist in the everyday operations of University Bands including outreach events (e.g., honor band and conventions) and logistics for all ensembles.

The University of Alabama School of Music invites applications for a full-time-temporary-instructor position, renewable, in Band and Wind Conducting. Applicants must have the following:
* an M.M. in Music
* college-level teaching experience or significant public-school experience
* a record of outstanding work in band activity
* the ability to teach the pedagogy of conducting
