Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is looking for a Big Press Operator for the plant located in Steele, AL. Sets up and operates power press to assemble metal, plastic, rubber, or glass products by crimping, shaping, locking, staking, or press-fitting.

What you’ll do:

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•
• Assembles, installs and aligns dies in press according to specifications
• Positions workpiece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on-die
• Adjusts ram stroke to specified length
• Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
• Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors. Cleans and lubricates machine.
• Operates cable puller safely and looks for wear.
• Be able to operate an overhead crane
• Must maintain a positive work relationship by acting and communicating in a manner that exemplifies Thomas & Betts Corporation’s guiding principles so that an atmosphere of professionalism with fellow employees, management, customer, and vendors is constantly present.

• SKILLS

• High school diploma or GED; six to twelve months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent education or work experience
• Excellent eyesight and hearing abilities
