Job Description:

General Summary



Consults and advises leadership team on interpretation and delivery of regulatory and compliance matters. Responsible for operational implementation and ongoing monitoring thereof.



Essential Functions



  • Monitors and coordinates the state regulatory compliance aspects of insurance licensing within the department.

  • Coordinates licensing appointments for agents and company with carriers.

  • Develop and maintain department continuing education program to comply with various state continuing education requirements for agent licensure.

  • Examine all correspondence and inquiries from state and federal agencies providing consult on appropriate written and/or oral response. Identify need for Corporate Legal and/or Compliance involvement and coordinate delivery as necessary.

  • Responsible for review and approval of, or development of, mitigation strategy plans for E&O and potential E&O cases. Identify need for Corporate Legal involvement and coordinate execution of agreed mitigation plan.

  • Develop Risk Mitigation recommendation for leadership based on trending identified in investigation process of E&O.

  • Manage all required state filings for risk purchasing groups and handle inquiries and correspondence with the various insurance departments.

  • Liaise with the state insurance departments to insure proper statutory compliance with applicable state law.

  • Liaise with insurance companies to assure proper statutory compliance.

  • Prepare monthly reports for management review.

  • Control licensing expenses within budget.

  • Review and consult with leadership on risk identification in Client Service Agreement, Carrier Agreements, and other agreements as identified.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, with a focus on risk management and/or research.

  • Has experience with statistical and research applications.

  • Proven negotiation skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively develop and leverage key relationships.

  • Must possess strong presentation skills and demonstrate a comfort dealing with high level executives

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate through multiple systems without assistance, proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Demonstrated use of logic and creativity in decision making.

  • Must demonstrate professional and ethical business practices, adherence to company standards, and a commitment to personal and professional development.
