City Experiences is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Hornblower Shipyard operation in Bridgeport CT.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer interested in having an immediate impact on the future of renewable energy and being directly involved in projects from conception to completion. The Electrical Engineer will join a highly skilled and multidisciplinary Design & Engineering Team working on a wide variety of projects.  This candidate will design and engineer electrical power distribution, control, and technology systems for vessel construction, refit, and repair projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Produce detailed 3D models, drawings, schematics, bill-of-materials, and technical documents

  • Produce electrical load analyses, voltage drop calculations, and engineer high and low voltage electrical systems

  • Support with troubleshooting and testing of shipboard electrical systems and devices

  • Develop and maintain all design documentation and testing procedures

  • Provide technical support in regulatory submittals, communications, and business development proposals

  • Perform research and procurement for the purpose of specification, request-for-quote, or purchasing

  • Maintain professional relationships with all clients and contractors

  • Travel to project sites as needed within the US and Canada

  • Additional job duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required

  • 1-3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience working with AutoCAD, Solid Edge, and other 3D design software

  • Experience in the design and development of shipboard control and power distribution systems

  • Experience in the maritime industry preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and organizational documentation file management systems

  • Must thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
