Your Key Responsibilities Include:

Safety: 


  • Implement loss control throughout the organization by visibly demonstrating that safety is embraced as a value.  

  • Support and Champion safety in your manufacturing site and team by driving educational and behavioral processes to a world class level, through the application of OpEx, LSS, T4E, and P2030 tools.  

  • Lead your team to complete safety objectives and ensure a safe working environment.

Quality:  


  • Champion and support OPEX, T4E, Lean Six Sigma, and P2030 programs and processes as the way to deliver quality and process capability improvements.

  • Provide resources and systems to align equipment, products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures to achieve business objectives related to quality.  

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

People: Focus on Organizational Transformation and Culture:


  • Manage yourself in accordance with the One K-C Behaviors  Ways of Working and values.  

  • Lead your site’s organizational transformation

  • Develop and execute an overall site plan that aligns to the KCNA strategy to drive a cultural transformation; increasing the engagement and enablement of all team members.

  • Identify and drive transformation that is inclusive of front-line and support organizations to increase alignment towards achievement of aspirational performance targets.

  • Support Sector development and application of an Organizational Transformation Strategy, including owning select sector-wide work elements.

  • Incorporate organizational transformation thinking into your team’s processes and tools.

Delivery:


  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to build capability of all team members at the site through the Training 4 Excellence program.

  • Provide leadership support to your T4E leader in their efforts to develop, facilitate and manage the site’s training strategies, including providing leadership to the mill training lead and training coordinators. Training strategies to include the certification process, long-term planning, short-term training identified through problem solving and holistic oversight for the health of training programs utilized to drive capability building (i.e. reliability training, hourly development, 1 Technical Community, etc.).

  • Ensure respective team members are active participants in KCNA networks in the areas they support, sharing learnings and adopting and applying one best way standards and process.

  • Develop, facilitate and manage your site’s Operational Excellence (OPEX) strategies, including providing leadership to the mill OPEX change agents.

  • Coordinates site roll out plan for OPEX including resource requirements, and leadership of overall change management aspects.

  • Develops tools and processes to support the Operational Excellence transformation, as a countermeasure to an identified problem.

  • Facilitates Kaizen events within the Mill.

  • Leads, mentors and supports entire team in execution of the Lean focus improvement content..

  • Provide continuous feedback to leadership team, consistent with OPEX mindsets, the 6 KC Behaviors Ways of Working and Culture of Accountability.

  • Provide leadership support to the Lean Six Sigma leader in their efforts to develop, facilitate and manage the site’s LSS Strategies.

  • Drive standardization, simplification and breakthrough initiatives through C/I, Lean Six Sigma, and CoA practices, including problem solving for site-wide or system-wide issues.

  • Provide education on Lean tools, processes and thinking at the senior leadership level at your site, and support your teams as they provide the same education to all other site personnel. 

  • Ensure related activities/programs (e.g. centerlining, TPM, RFS) are interlinked to provide a coherent framework to the mill.

  • Ensure consistent application of Sector framework standards for management systems and processes.

  • Track and report a scorecard of Organizational Transformation and Operational Excellence/CI/Cost Savings measures.

  • Provide leadership support to the P2030 leader in their efforts to develop, facilitate and manage the site’s P2030 Strategies.

  • Provides standard mechanism to track and report scorecard of Operational Excellence transformation measure.

  • Ensures all barriers to the acceleration change plan are identified and problem solved to achieve delivery of the implementation plan.

  • Assists in prioritization of workload and ensure discipline to the mindsets & behaviors within the management infrastructure.

  • Supports the introduction of management processes to ensure sustainability.

You Also Possess:


  • Position requires knowledge and experience typically associated with a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment/plan experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a CI/Lean and/or OPEX environment

  • The incumbent would typically have significant experience in Engineering, Operations, Lean Manufacturing, and Maintenance and be very familiar with the application of Lean Six Sigma/CI/OPEX/P2030 tools and theory.

  • Possesses strong understanding of the broader business and organization and can relate and connect the CI and Capabilities organization to it.

  • Incumbent would possess demonstrated ability to organize and lead a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment.

  • Experience with developing and cascading large-scale strategy, demonstrated problem-solving mindset, strong project management skills, and proficiency with MS Suite are highly desired

  • Experience in multiple mills, product systems and staff experience, leadership of both exempt and non-exempt workforces are highly desired

  • Strong understanding of Adult Learning processes, LEAN/CI and Six Sigma thinking, systems and tools is highly desired

  • Experience in change management in addition to coaching and mentoring at all levels to drive collaboration across teams and functions is highly desired
