PayPal Core Payment Data Platform team is looking for a talented, creative, and passionate senior Machine learning end engineer in the Data team. As a self-motivated and enthusiastic member of our team, you will work with extremely talented peers in a fun environment building models to improve our operations within Payments at scale. You will work in an agile environment with a focus on problem solving and engineering excellence.
• Discovering, analyzing, structuring and mining data
• Be a key engineer contributing to the design, development of the new functionalities and maintaining the existing components
• Maintain and enhance the existing architectural documentations and create the new one as needed
• Highly effective at working in cross-functional groups and getting results in matrix organizations
• Highly analytical, innovative, and able to think strategically and to develop comprehensive detailed specifications
• Design, build, evolve, and scale state-of-the-art Machine Learning system infrastructure powering PayPal's AI/ML and Data Processing Platforms
• Explore, evaluate and utilize cutting edge Machine Learning frameworks and solutions in the industry, iterate quickly in prototyping platform build-ups
• Develop, integrate and optimize end to end AI pipeline
• Collect, analyze and synthesize requirements and bottleneck in the technology, systems and tools used by machine learning engineers and scientists, develop solutions that improves efficiency, leverage more amount of data efficiently
• Work with Machine learning / Deep learning researchers and backend engineers to implement scalable solutions to solve complex problems
• Partner with data science and domain engineering teams to support the business transformation through AI
Qualifications
• 5 years+ experience in software development industry
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related field
• Solid software engineering skills with proficiency in one or more programming languages including Java, Python, Golang, Scala, etc
• Strong applied knowledge of frameworks like Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch etc
• Experience in design and implement large scalable distributed systems with micro-services and heterogenous platform components
• Excellent computer science knowledge with sound competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies
• Experience with data processing technologies (batch & streaming) and big data technologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
