Job Description:

The Clinical Psychologist provides quality behavioral health services to youth, adults and families; offers interventions to individuals with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders; provides integrated assessments and formulates appropriate treatments plans that address clients presenting problem, biopsychosocial contexts, and therapeutic goals; and works as part of an integrated team to provide superior coordination of care on behalf of the client.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direct clinical supervision of the Associate Behavioral Health Director, job incumbent may be assigned from the following representative duties:

Develop therapeutic helping-relationships with clients that are based on unconditional positive regard, empathy, and honesty that is balanced with grace.Provide individual, family, and group counseling and/or psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, and elders. May be assigned to substance use disorder treatment groups. Assignments reflect professional scope and experience.Complete integrated behavioral health assessments using DSM-5 and ASAM placement criteria.Develop a treatment plan with special consideration to cross-cultural and dual diagnosis concerns. Ensure appropriate implementation of treatment plan. Provide Crisis Intervention and Stabilization for suicidal, inconsolable, and/or grossly disorganized individuals; is integrated into the BH On-Call Crisis Intervention schedule. Successfully manage and organize 25 direct patient hours per week; communicate frequently with the BH Intake Coordinator to ensure that incoming clients are placed quickly and efficiently when there is an opening. Number of direct hours may be reduced if assigned other duties. Work closely with the BH treatment team, including Case Managers, Intake Coordinators, Peer Support Specialists, Behavioral Health Aides, and other BH staff where necessary to ensure the client receives highly coordinated services. Consider an integrated team approach particularly with KANA medical providers and staff, KANA Wellness Center, Child Advocacy Center and other partners to ensure the client receives highly coordinated services. Develop and maintain a solid treatment referral system that enables clients to access more or less intensive levels of care when these cannot be provided by KANA directly. Maintain positive collaborative relationships with community agencies and participate in prevention work as assigned. Provide ongoing outreach and supportive services to the KANA service area at the request of community members and/or KANA Administration; may travel to villages upon request. May represent KANA at community meetings or trainings upon request. Complete administrative and clinical documentation in a timely manner in order to maintain program compliance within the guidelines established by Kodiak Area Native Association, State of Alaska, Medicaid and other regulatory agencies. Participate in outcome-informed treatment practices, to include engagement in Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM), regular clinical supervision, review of session recordings, and incorporation of clinical feedback into practice in order to achieve best outcome. Engage in professional development activities to include completion of CEUs towards licensure, additional therapeutic trainings, and the application of Deliberative Practice to clinical care.Attend required training and meetings; work toward becoming a Qualified Addictions Professional where necessary.Other duties as assigned.
