Role and Responsibilities

You will oversee the maintenance activities at your facility, identify maintenance needs, and supervise the work of maintenance technicians and/or resident workers. Your tasks will include to:


  • Conduct inspections to determine the need for repair and estimate repair costs.

  • Schedule preventive maintenance for all safety equipment and systems.

  • Maintain logs of pending and completed maintenance activities.

  • Prepare progress, status, and other reports as required by the Assistant Administrator/Support and review maintenance department activities, performance, and operations to determine departmental progress towards established goals and objectives.

  • Assign and inspect work of maintenance personnel.

  • Coordinate the preparation of repair orders, equipment records, requisitions, etc.

  • Log, monitor, and control the dispensing of all tools used in maintenance activities.

  • Perform limited administrative functions (evaluate subordinate personnel work performances and reports).

  • Initiate and conduct subordinate training.

  • Conduct meetings with subordinate personnel regularly to ensure the operations integrity of maintenance.

Competencies Required

The selected candidate is comfortable in a structured work environment, has excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and cares about others. Apply if you have the following:

Minimum Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent.  Additional technical trade or college-level courses are highly desirable.

  • Three (3) years’ experience in the general maintenance associated with electricity, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical and carpentry work.

  • Must be able to perform the work associated with a Maintenance Technician.

  • Must be in good physical condition to perform the duties of the position.

  • Candidate needs to be self-motivated and able to prioritize work assignments.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have experience in leading or supervising a staff.

  • Must be able to pass a background check with applicable authorities.

  • Above average ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

  • Must have valid Arizona Drivers License

  • Must have verifiable United States residence

Physical Requirements



  • Frequently: lift, carry up to 20 lbs., push or pull up to 40 lbs. or more; bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, sit.


  • Occasionally: lift, carry, push, or pull 60 lbs. or more, drive automatic equipment vehicles, climb, walk, stand, work in extreme temperatures.
