We are seeking to add a great CNC Operator to our team on our 2nd shift. The CNC Operator is responsible for producing machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine while maintaining quality and safety standards.
The CNC Operator Level II is an advanced level position responsible for producing machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine while maintaining quality and safety standards.
What you will do:
Advanced machine operation including set up, loading raw materials and unloading completed parts
Operate multiple machines simultaneously
Select set-up of appropriate tooling & fixtures
Adjust tooling & work offsets
Troubleshoot current programs and performs significant editing of current programs
Basic program development
Perform inspections on own work & co-worker's work
Make adjustments to assure dimensions tolerances, quality, and the highest accuracy of parts
Run and set up all machines in the department
Work on continuous improvement for processes, productivity, quality, and safety
Use measurement tools i.e. snap gauge, micrometers, digital caliper, optical comparator, etc.
Use and understand QMS, MAX & SPC databases
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants
Help establish procedures and follow quality and safety standards with a proven quality record
Promote a clean shop and work environment as well as cleaning equipment, chip removal, and work area
Cooperate fully with others within and outside the department; assists others
Communicate delays and problems effectively and timely
Work under minimal supervision
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
What we are looking for:
High school diploma or GED required; professional certification/education preferred
3-5 years' minimum relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong mechanical aptitude
Good working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, basic math, and measuring instruments
Good understanding of machining practices
Must be able to read blueprints and specification drawings; read and interpret other written work instructions
Must be able to use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices
Additional characteristics:
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Requires the ability to lift 20+ lbs. occasionally, 10-20 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly
Requires standing and/or sitting for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day
Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity
May be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils
