Job Function Overview:



  • Process purchase orders and requisitions for stock replenishment and special-order procurement requirements.

  • Manage open orders to ensure timely delivery by suppliers.

  • Manage vendor performance by use of supplier evaluation tool(s).

  • Work with internal customers to ensure proper supply chain flow of procured products.

  • Search for and implement cost saving alternatives. Seek, implement and maintain cost saving alternatives.

  • Enforce and maintain organizational principles of integrity and compliance.

  • Meet and exceed defined performance goals.

  • Schedule, plan, expedite, and revise sales orders as necessary.

  • Schedule sales orders, expedite deliveries, coordinate change orders, provide status updates to sales personnel.

  • Review slow moving and excess inventory to determine ways to substitute and/or reconfigure into usable inventory.

  • Exposure to and experience working within a manufacturing or high-volume industrial distribution environment.

  • Gain product knowledge and begin learning more advanced purchasing concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with standard policies, procedures, internal audit, and quality management processes. Expedite/follow up on open purchase orders to maximize stock availability and ensure timely delivery of product.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • An independent self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience preferred in a purchasing, inventory management or planning.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred

  • Above average skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook) and a demonstrated aptitude for mathematical formulas and equations.

  • Understanding and basic knowledge of MRP systems and their functionality.

  • The ability to prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.

  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of management.

  • Maintain timely and accurate order acknowledgments and supplier commitment dates.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Experience

Preferred
