Specific Requirements:

  • Participate and support associated engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for an assigned project throughout its entire life cycle, ensure key stakeholders are involved in planning and are informed and accountable to their tasks to assure execution of the team’s activities

  • Collaborate with the Control Account Manager (CAM) for an assigned project documenting all activities including technical and engineering execution risk management, earned value, schedule performance, action item capture and closure.

  • Support the lead Project Engineer, Program Manager, Program Chief Engineer (when applicable), Operations and Engineering Discipline Managers to ensure appropriate and adequate technical staffing

  • Participate on Overseeing the technical approach for design & development efforts to ensure adherence to engineering best practices and standards

  • Participate and collaborate in the developing of solutions that achieve full compliance with performance requirements while maintaining program schedule and budget

  • Support program Change Control Board (CCB), participate in and approve all engineering change activity

  • Participate and collaborate in leading all engineering design reviews and support the preparation/presentation of all major program milestone reviews

  • Participate in troubleshooting activities, failure investigations and analysis that drives to root cause.

  • A Project Engineer with a background in a specific engineering discipline may take on design development responsibilities aligned with that discipline.

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Optical, Systems or related field). 

Experience Required:

  • 1-3 years' experience as a Project Engineer, or as a design engineer for a given discipline

  • Experience working within and/or leading engineering project IPTs

  • Experience in project estimation, resource planning, and scheduling

  • Effective communication skills – able to communicate across all engineering disciplines, management chains, and external customers

  • Effective time management skills – able to meet project deadlines/milestones under dynamic circumstances
