Sr Embedded Core Software Engineer at CNH Industrial

As an Embedded Core Software Engineer, you will be responsible for design, development, testing and maintenance of the Core software. Core software typically includes middle layer, lower layer embedded software, RTOS for electronic control unit (ECU). Core software needs to meet stringent real time and performance requirements. The developed core software is integrated with application software.



  • Design and develop middle layer/BSW and lower layer/BSP embedded software for multiple ECUs

  • Develop and maintain software build environment

  • Develop and maintain integration workflows and document integration guide for easier application software integration

  • Design and develop tools to automate software workflows and processes

  • Execution of the unit test, static analysis, modules integration test, integration with the EE hardware, software verification

  • Ensure that software is developed with high quality standards, adhering to the coding standards and guidelines defined by the organization

  • Ensure that software meets the stringent performance requirements of real time embedded system

  • Leads or contributes to Functional Safety relevant software functions in accordance to ISO25119, ISO13849

  • Debug and fix bugs reported by HIL, product validation team or application software team during verification and validation cycle

  • Reviews progress of projects and provides frequent progress updates to direct manager, other stakeholders

  • Travel, as necessary, to other development sites.

This position pays:99,00-150,700 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.) .


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering, or similar engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Embedded software development (Low level drivers/BSP and Middle layer services/BSW) in C and assembly language

  • Strong experience of microcontrollers (16/32-bit automotive grade), compilers/linkers, debugging

  • Strong experience of commination protocol such as CAN, LIN, Automotive ethernet, SPI, I2C

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with CAN based protocols such as XCP, J1939, KWP, UDS

  • Experience working with memories (Flash, EEPROM, RAM, External memories), MMU etc.

  • Experience working with real time operating system RTOS (Autosar, OSEK or similar)

  • Experience with communication tools Vector CANalayser, CANape, CANoe, INCA or similar

  • Experience with unit testing and static analysis tools Cantata, Polyspace or similar

  • Experience with Scripting and automation languages Python or similar

  • Experience with Functional Safety concepts and software implementation in accordance with ISO25119, ISO13849, ISO26262

  • Experience with cybersecurity concepts and implementation

  • Strong knowledge of configuration management tools such as SVN or similar.

  • Familiarity with embedded code debugging tools and strong debugging skills (call stack analysis, profiling, breakpoint evaluation, resource budget analysis as Flash, RAM and CPU load)

  • Experience with AUTOSAR Architecture

  • Experience in software documentation SDD, SRD

  • Demonstrated knowledge of design analysis tool and other relevant engineering systems

  • Demonstrated the ability to work in a variety of client settings and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Demonstrated significant problem-solving capabilities and experience

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Easily switch between the projects and as needed work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience with tracking requirements tools (e.g. Polarion or similar)

  • Demonstrated technical leadership and organization/control skills.

  • Experience with agricultural equipment and/or machines

  • Experience with Electro-Hydraulic or vehicle control systems for off-highway vehicles or automotive control systems
