GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer for the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering Design Team in Phoenix, Arizona. The role will largely be focused on the planning, design, and construction of a diverse range of water and wastewater related projects, including conveyance, storage and pumping design.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Working with design teams in the preparation of plans, technical specifications and cost estimates
Preparing engineering studies and related reports and technical memorandums
Performing hydraulic analyses using manual or computer based software applications
Preparing other engineering calculations and similar project related duties
Conduct field work to evaluate project requirements and support construction administration
Interact with clients, suppliers, regulators, and sub-consultants to help create successful outcomes
Attend client and project team meetings
The ideal candidate would have the following skills:
A curiosity about developing new business and directly contacting clients
Strong technical understanding of general civil engineering principles with an emphasis in water and wastewater infrastructure
Ability to complete diverse assignments with a high attention to detail
Demonstration of an understanding of pipeline and pump station hydraulics
Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills
Be able to work well in a collaborative team environment and communicate ideas and technical information to staff, supervisors, and clients in a professional manner
Willing to occasionally travel to other GHD offices, client offices and project sites, perform occasional field observations related to design and construction
Competency in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D is desired.
Qualifications:
BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Minimum 5 years civil engineering experience in serving municipal and utility water, recycled water, and wastewater agencies
Registered Civil Professional Engineer in Arizona, or the ability to qualify for and acquire an Arizona Civil PE within 12 months
