The overall responsibilities of the Grounds Maintenance/Snow Removal Worker fall into the following areas:
Performs snow removal as needed and directed. Shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches; spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways; picks up leaves and trash.
Safely and expertly operate gators and pickup trucks. Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances; moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacks materials for storage or binning.
Safely operate lawn equipment to include: riding mowers, weeding equipment, blowers, edging equipment, walk-behind mowers, etc.
Perform cleaning and preventive maintenance of equipment.
Collects refuse and salvageable materials; digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment/Software
Experience using lawn maintenance and snow removal equipment.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
Prefer some experience in grounds/lawn maintenance, landscaping and/or snow removal.
Physical Demands
Ability to use tools and equipment of trade.
Finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination is required to operate tools and machinery.
Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.
Mobility to frequently alternate between sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted.
