Job Description:

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer works within the quality team to develop the overall quality plan of a manufactured product.  They are tasked with creating documentation, determining appropriate gaging, and defining the overall manufacturing criteria to ensure the customer requirements are met. They are expected to quickly and efficiently handle non-conformances throughout the entirety of the manufacturing process, including supplier and customer issues. 

 

Essential Functions

•                     Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products.

•                     Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering.

•                     Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.

•                     Facilitates and promotes use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action on internal defects and customer returns.

•                     Works closely with engineering and production to streamline the overall quality process by removing redundancy.

Required

•                     High School Diploma or equivalent GED

•                     3 years of related experience

•                     Exceptional mechanical aptitude

•                     Good verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills

 

Preferred

•                     Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

•                     6 years of related experience

•                     ASQ Certification

•                     Technical knowledge of machining processes

•                     Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
