The Audit Manager is responsible for managing and supervising aspects of one or more audits, as well as executing procedures on more complex projects. The individual possesses skills in planning and structuring an audit approach based on appropriate risk assessment. An Audit Manager will identify and resolve workflow issues and refer unusual problems to the appropriate specialist. The Manager has a thorough understanding of audit, risk, and control methodology and or business or functional areas of responsibility. The individual is expected to provide supervision, coaching and training to less experienced auditors, including participation in project assignments, scheduling activities and productivity monitoring.

We are looking for a self-motivated experienced audit professional looking to build a rewarding career supporting our PGIM audit group within Prudential’s Internal Audit Department. PGIM is the global investment management business of Prudential Financial Inc., consisting of various investment managers, which cover fixed income, public equity, real estate, private debt, private equity, and mutual funds. 

As an Audit Manager within the PGIM audit group, you will work with other team members to deploy an agile audit approach to ensure adequate audit coverage of assigned asset management businesses, principally consisting of Public and Private Asset Managers, across PGIM. This role provides the opportunity to influence the audit approach, lead and perform audits of the various PGIM asset management businesses. You will also have the opportunity to lead people and contribute to the development of members of the team.

Beyond the standard skill set of analytical thinking and excellent verbal and written communication skills, this position calls for a highly enthusiastic leader who can actively drive all aspects of the audit, including the planning, risk assessment, data analytics, control analysis, testing, issue development and reporting phases.

This successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain collaborative relationships with key business partners across the globe and engage in dialogue with business unit management and various control partners to identify and assess risks and controls of the PGIM asset management businesses. The candidate will also be expected to grow their business/technical acumen to remain current on business developments, industry trends in the asset management space, emerging risks, and changes to the financial and regulatory environments.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of audit or other related experience, preferably within the financial services industry. Some big 4 public accounting experience is preferred, but not required. A Bachelor's degree, or higher, is required, preferably a business major. A MBA, CPA, CIA or CISA is a plus, but not required. The successful candidate should also have experience with risk assessment, control analysis, audit procedures and standards, sampling techniques, data analytics, risk components, and the internal framework of control. Practical audit experience, such as conducting risk assessments, creating audit programs, and executing or leading audits. 

The role also requires outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, strong project management skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with management, external auditors, and other control partners to analyze risks and controls is essential.  The candidate will also possess the ability to discuss audit issues effectively and confidently with management and develop business-focused recommendations.  This individual should have experience leading teams with a proven record of developing junior associates. Familiarity with Agile concepts and tools is a plus.  

This position is hybrid and will be based in Newark, NJ, with periodic on-site time required (2 days per week). The successful candidate can expect to travel to business locations within the U.S, Europe, and Asia. Travel is not expected to exceed 25%.
