As a member of Linde's Food Lab Team within the Linde Gases US division, you will be assuming the role of Laboratory Technologist in the Burr Ridge, Illinois facility. The position reports directly to the Food Lab manager.

Linde's Burr Ridge Food Laboratory is a commercial food freezing and chilling lab with: testing and analysis instrumentation; commercial preparation and cooking equipment; and lab-scale and full-sized freezing and chilling equipment. The lab's primary mission is to prepare, test, analyze, and report on the thermal and physical characteristics of Linde's prospective customers food products, either existing products or products coming to market.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate in meeting the above mission will include:

  • Applying existing and future knowledge and experience in designing and conducting thermal evaluation testing of customers' products, data analysis based on engineering principles, and communicating the results to internal and external customers.
  • Applying complex technical principles, with supervision, to develop solutions to challenging technical freezing and chilling problems in support of the products that are tested.
  • Demonstrating the operation, features, and benefits of Linde applications equipment.
  • Learning new information quickly, picking up on the nuanced differences between similar situations, and applying it to testing and analytical methods.
  • Possess a proven history of operational safety and take personal responsibly to perform all work safely.
  • Assisting the Team in maintaining a class-leading Food Laboratory including equipment readiness, cleanliness, and the availability of all needed test supplies.
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of safely conducting testing at customers' plant.




Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in science or engineering or related field or Associate Degree with strong relevant experience
  • 2-5 years laboratory experience



Technical Skills:
  • Microsoft Office required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen and laboratory equipment
  • Ability to operate industrial machinery

  • Well-spoken and personable

  • Demonstrated ability for strong follow through and bringing a project to completion once initiated
