Senior Human Resources Manager at Reser's Fine Foods

General Summary: Effectively perform the duties of a Senior HR Manager to ensure HR objectives are aligned with Reser's 5 Cornerstones. Ensures that day to day functions run efficiently in more than one HR office or in a large HR specialized area.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities



  1. Provides guidance, service solutions and training to HR departments on all HR functions.

  2. Set objectives for the HR team that align with Reser’s 5 Cornerstones and track progress

  3. Ensures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures as well as all State, Federal and local law and ensures consistency for employees.

  4. Keep open lines of communication with all departments and management, including the Corporate Offices.

  5. Monitor HR metrics ensuring goals and best practices are achieved.

  6. Review and understand Plant spending as it relates to HR programs. For example, labor costs, overtime, temporary agency costs, learning developed vs. purchased, etc.

  7. Working with leadership to be as efficient as possible.

  8. Responsible for active participation and contribution to the Plant labor initiatives associated with driving down the cost of direct and indirect labor per pound.

  9. Discuss employees’ career development paths with HR and other staff and organize learning and development programs.

  10. Provide direction for all employee relations activities including training, investigations, decision making and follow through; review all disciplinary actions for consistency, appropriateness, liability, and training purposes.

  11. Ensure HR staff addresses employees’ requests and grievances in a timely manner.

  12. Oversee recruiting and staffing processes to ensure stakeholder’s needs are being met.

  13. Support and suggest improvements to the entire recruitment, employee development, benefits, and other processes.

  14. Market and drive employee recruiting programs, employee development, internal succession planning/promotions and other programs that support the organization.

  15. Oversee Workers’ Compensation and unemployment processes and provide training and guidance to the HR Managers to reduce losses.


Job Specifications



  1. Requires 10 years Human Resource Experience; at least 5 of which is in a HR Manager role.

  2. A Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a related field is required.

  3. PHR certification strongly preferred.

  4. Experience in high growth, mid-size and large manufacturing company preferred.

  5. Must have excellent PC skills and HRIS experience. UKG/Kronos experience preferred.

  6. Must demonstrate knowledge in all federal, state, and local employment laws and
    procedures.

  7. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  8. Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills.

  9. English/Spanish bilingual a plus.


Working Conditions



  1. Office, production and/or warehouse environments.

  2. The environment may be wet or dry and temperatures may range from 25 F to 110 F

  3. Ability to walk through Plant environments

  4. Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling

  5. Ability to lift 20 lbs

  6. Occasional travel
